Buying parts from Japan: what to include in your enquiry
A useful enquiry connects the exact item, its intended use and the delivery destination. This checklist helps put those details in one place.

Start with an identifiable item
Give the manufacturer, product name and complete part number where available. Add the official product link and the colour, size or market version you want. A photograph is useful context, but similar-looking products can have different applications or contents.
If you are replacing an existing part, describe that part separately from the item you want to buy. Include the visible model markings and a clear photograph without unrelated personal information. This makes it easier to distinguish an exact replacement request from a request for alternatives.
Explain where and how it will be used
For automotive and motorcycle parts, provide the make, model, year, model or chassis code and relevant modifications. For a machine or replacement accessory, identify the existing unit and its market version. State whether the intended application is normal road use, competition, a workshop or another use.
Include the delivery country and postal area early. An item being available in Japan does not by itself establish that a particular version can be shipped, sold or used in every destination. These questions need to be checked against the actual item and route.
Make quantity and timing explicit
List the required quantity for each reference. Separate a first purchase from a possible later order; an estimated future quantity is different from a confirmed commitment. If you accept alternatives, specify which details may change and which must remain exact.
Explain whether your date is a preferred dispatch date or the date the item must arrive. Availability, lead time, shipping options and the quotation are reviewed for the individual request. Sending an enquiry does not reserve stock or place an order.
Use a short, structured brief
A clear brief can be only a few lines: item and reference; quantity and version; vehicle or system details; destination; timing; and any acceptable alternatives. For several products, use one row per item instead of combining references in a long paragraph.
Send the brief to business@cloudstar-jc.com. Cloudstar can review the sourcing request and identify what still needs confirmation before a quotation or order route is agreed.
